Create a customer

Add a new customer to your CRM, with contact, delivery, and billing details.

A customer (an "address") is any person or business you sell to. Everything you invoice, deliver, or send a quote to starts from a customer record.

Open the customer list

Go to Addresses. This opens your list of customers, where you can search, filter by ZIP code, status, user group, seller, or label, and open any customer to edit.

Add a new customer

  1. In Addresses, click Create new.
  2. Choose the address type at the top: Company or Private.
    • Company shows fields for the company name and department.
    • Private shows a title, first name, and last name, plus a mobile number.
  3. Fill in the main details: name, street, PO box, ZIP code, location, and country.
  4. Add contact details on the right: phone, fax, email, and website.
  5. Optionally assign a user group and add notes.
  6. Click Save.

Add a separate delivery address

If goods should ship somewhere other than the billing address, tick Different delivery address. A second block of fields appears where you enter the delivery name, street, ZIP, location, and country.

Billing and other settings

Scroll to the Settings section to set how this customer is billed and served:

  • Terms of payment and currency
  • Seller responsible for the account
  • Language used on their documents and emails
  • Tax and VAT number
  • Total discount applied to their orders
  • Customer since date

After saving

Once the customer is saved, more sections appear on the edit page — Contacts, Documents, Events, Invoices, and more — so you can build up a full history for the account. See Add contacts to a customer and Track documents and events for a customer.

You can also start a document straight from the customer: use Create order confirmation at the top of the edit page.
