Packing slips
Packing slips lets you create picking and packing lists that guide warehouse staff through preparing each order for shipment.
The Packing Slips area lets you create picking and packing lists that help you prepare orders for shipment. A packing slip guides your warehouse staff through gathering the right items from the right storage locations and packing them for a specific order. It can show the source storage, storage place, total packages, total quantity and total weight, and it can carry a signature when the goods are handed over.
You reach it from the main menu under Packing slips.
Packing slip vs. delivery note
These two documents sit next to each other in the sales pipeline, and it's easy to mix them up:
- A packing slip is an internal, warehouse-facing document. It's the picking and packing list that tells your staff which items to collect, from which storage, and how to pack them.
- A delivery note is the customer-facing document that travels with the goods and confirms what was actually delivered.
In Vinosoft the two are linked: a packing slip records the delivery note it belongs to, so you can prepare the goods in the warehouse and keep the shipping document connected to the same order. Delivery notes themselves live in the separate Delivery notes area.
Status tabs
The packing slip list is split into tabs so you can focus on the ones at each stage of preparation. Selecting a tab filters the list to packing slips in that state.
Open
The Open tab shows packing slips that have been created but not yet printed. These are your active picking and packing jobs — the ones warehouse staff still need to work through. Start here to see what's waiting to be prepared.
Printed
The Printed tab shows packing slips that have already been printed. Printing a packing slip moves it out of Open and into Printed, so this tab acts as your record of the lists that have been handed to the warehouse or completed.
