Build your shop navigation

Create menus for your online shop and add, link, nest, and reorder their items.

Navigation menus control the links your customers see in your shop's header, footer, and other menu areas. Each menu is a named, ordered list of items — and each item can link to a page, a collection, an external URL, or a built-in shop destination like the cart or login.

Open the Navigation screen

Go to Shop → Navigation to see the list of menus for your shop.

Every menu has a handle — a short, lowercase identifier (e.g. header, footer, mobile) that your shop's theme uses to know which menu to render in which spot. Some menus are marked as System — these are created by the shop theme and can't be deleted, but you can still edit their items.

Create a menu

  1. On the Navigation screen, click Create new.
  2. Enter a Name (shown to you in the admin) and a Handle (lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens — this is what the theme references).
  3. Click Create.

You're taken to the new menu's item list, ready for you to start adding items.

Add a menu item

  1. From a menu's page, click Add item.
  2. Enter the Title — the text customers will see in the menu.
  3. Choose where the item should sit with Parent — leave it blank for a top-level item, or pick an existing item to nest this one underneath it as a sub-menu entry.
  4. Choose the Link type:
    • Page or Collection — link to one of your shop's pages or collections. Enter the target's ID.
    • Support page or News — link to a support article or news post.
    • Home, Shop, Subscribe, Login, Account, or Cart — link to one of the shop's built-in destinations; no target is needed.
    • External URL — link anywhere outside your shop. Enter the full address.
  5. Optionally add an Anchor to jump to a specific section of the target page.
  6. Check Open in new tab if the link should open in a separate browser tab.
  7. Click Save.

Nest, reorder, and edit items

Back on a menu's page, its items appear as a tree. Drag and drop an item to reorder it or nest it under another item — Vinosoft saves the new order automatically.

Use the row actions to edit or delete an individual item at any time.

Rename or delete a menu

On a menu's page, update its Name at any time — the Handle stays fixed once created, since the theme depends on it. To remove a menu entirely, use Delete menu at the bottom of the page (not available for system menus).
