Set up shop widgets

Add, arrange, and remove the content blocks that make up your shop's main page and sidebar.

Widgets are the content blocks that make up your shop's storefront layout — slideshows, banners, product lists, category navigation, and more. Each widget sits in one of two columns: the main page (the large content area) or the right side (the sidebar), and you control which widgets appear, in what order, on the Widgets screen.

Open the Widgets screen

Go to Shop → Configuration → Widgets. You'll see two columns: the main page column on the left and the right side (sidebar) column on the right, each listing the widgets currently active there.

Add a widget

  1. Click Add widget above the column you want to add to — main page or right side.
  2. On the widget list, find the type you want (for example Slideshow, Banner, News, Categories, Manufacturers, Bestseller products, New products, Sales products, Last viewed products) and click Add widget next to it.
  3. You're returned to the Widgets screen, and the new widget appears at the end of that column.

Some widget types show live data pulled from elsewhere in Vinosoft — for example the Manufacturers widget shows your active manufacturers, and Banner shows banners you've configured. If there's no real data yet, sample placeholder content is shown so you can still preview the layout.

Create a custom HTML widget

If none of the built-in types fit what you need, add your own content with a custom HTML widget:

  1. On the Add widget screen, click Create custom HTML widget.
  2. Enter a Name to identify the widget internally.
  3. Enter the Html content you want displayed.
  4. Choose the Position — main page or right side.
  5. Click Save.

The widget is added to the chosen column. You can come back to the Add widget screen at any time to Edit or Remove an existing custom HTML widget.

Reorder widgets

On the Widgets screen, drag a widget panel up or down within its column to change its position. Once you've made changes, click Save to apply the new order — it only becomes active on your storefront after saving.

Remove a widget

Click the close icon (×) in a widget's title bar on the Widgets screen, then confirm. The widget is removed from that column immediately.
